Online education is all the rage nowadays – it’s also a very smart way to get your degree. If you are thinking about going back to school, don’t discount an online school as an option. And to help you out a little bit, below are some tips for acing that online class.

  1. Remember, school is school. Whether you are getting a master degree at a traditional school or online, school is school. It’s important to take your education seriously, no matter where you are attending classes.
  2. Set aside study time. It’s important to set aside time every day to study and to do your class work. You can quickly fall behind on your classes if you don’t do some work every day.
  3. Get involved. Just because you are studying in front of your computer doesn’t mean you can’t get involved with other people. Form study groups, utilize forums, and socialize with your fellow online classmates. Find out if there are others in your area that you can meet up with in person.
  4. Participate. On the same note as getting involved, make sure you participate in your classes. Do the assigned work, participate in chat sessions, and get involved in any online discussions. Not only will this help you succeed, but you’ll feel a part of your school program which will help you stay motivated.
  5. Surround yourself with support. Perhaps one of the most important parts of any school program is having support at home. Surround yourself with positive friends and family members who will support you.

Are you ready for an online program?

How to Choose the Best OBGYN

One of the most important decisions in pregnancy is finding the best OBGYN. For some women, this quest starts even before they are pregnant. The OBGYN monitors both mother and baby, and puts the woman’s mind at rest. The wrong one can make the entire pregnancy experience unsettling. There have been horror stories in direct tv about these things, that you might want to avoid yourself.

What to Look for in an OBGYN

There are some simple ways to find a good OBGYN, some of which are:

  • Get recommendations from your regular doctor. Some will even recommend one if they know you are trying for a baby. Friends and family members are also great sources of information in this area.
  • The doctor should be able to offer advice on tasks like creating a pregnancy calendar.
  • Set appointments and meet with a few to see what they are like. Most women want a doctor they can talk to. If you do not feel comfortable around an OBGYN, it is wise to look elsewhere.

Other factors to bear in mind when looking for an OBGYN are:

  • How long they have been practicing in that field of medicine
  • Check to see if they are board certified
  • Check around to see if there have been any sanctions or disciplinary actions taken against them

It is important to know that every woman’s need, when it comes to an OBGYN, is different. As such, the factors that one woman views as being important in a good OBGYN may not be the same for another. The most important thing is that the woman should be comfortable with the OBGYN.

Dollars Gained, Lessons Learned

There are fingers, tiny but so strong, tugging at your sleeve. They demand attention, curling against your wrist (persistent enough to bruise). You glance down, seeing that your child has pulled yet another shirt from the racks. It’s startling similar to the others she’s selected and yet is deemed somehow vital, is pleaded for with earnest eyes. You ask about the cost and she simply stares, baffled both by the question and the tone. She’s offered no consideration to a price, only a pattern.

At this poinht, you think it’s time to include new lessons within your home-schooling routine.

The intention of teaching your child from the comforts of home was always to tailor information, to ensure that facts were given without distraction. Now, however, those facts must be applied to finance – with the constant quest for Apple Bottom Clothes redefined.

Money isn’t infinite: this must be explained to your daughter. You must allow her to discover that simple desire isn’t enough to gain an item; there must instead be effort. Dollars must now be earned (at least in small amounts).

Allow your child to experience the value of money. You should offer her the chance to complete tasks for payment. These tasks shouldn’t be chores that she’s already expected to do. Instead they should be optional activities that is not already used to handling. If she chooses to accomplish them, she can earn a reward. If she refuses, she won’t be able to simply beg you for purchases.

This will teach her responsibility, as well as offer a glimpse into the world of finance.

Flyers Are in the Air and on the Wall

Flyers are everywhere; under your windshield wiper, on a street lamp, and even being handed out on the street by a guy dressed like Captain Burrito. They offer quick discounts, local information and help find the owner of a lost kitten.

Need to get a message out into the world? A flyer is one of the least expensive and quickest ways to go.

Who Needs Flyers?

  • You might be a café with some lunch specials to promote.
  • A band bringing a brand new groove to clubs downtown.
  • Having a garage sale.
  • Looking for your lost puppy.
  • Trying to find a roommate.
  • Looking to sell your guitar.

All of these are perfect uses for an inexpensive flyer.

How to Make Your Flyers Stick Out From the Crowd

  • Have a catchy headline.
  • Use color paper or printing.
  • Include a graphic or photo.
  • Get your flyer printing done professionally.
  • Cut the paper on the bottom into tabs so people can grab a piece with a phone number or website.

Flyers are not limited to local use taped to a sign post, either. Businesses use flyers as an inexpensive marketing tool. When a brochure is too costly or not right for a specific audience, a flyer can present the correct targeted message. Since the cost of flyers is inexpensive, they can be customized for different events linking your business with the event. Think about the different way you would want to promote your business at a beer fest versus a church social. A flyer offers a cheap, quick and easy method to tailor your message to each audience.

Has your homeschooled teen been begging for a new phone, but you’re absolutely clueless as to what to buy? Chances are, your teen is craving a smartphone. Here are some of the reasons smartphones are perfect phone choices for teens.

It Keeps Them Linked In

Facebook. Twitter. Email. Texts. Instant messaging. Smartphones can easily and quickly connect with all of your teen’s favorite social networking sites. They can post a Facebook status or upload a snapshot to Twitter while they’re on the go. Some blogging sites (Tumblr, for example) have embraced the age of the smartphone and have even made blogging possible from your phone’s tiny keys.

Great Smartphone Options

The three main players in the smartphone game are the iPhone, the Blackberry, and Android phones like the Android Zio. Androids are the newcomer to the smartphone scene, but their easy-to-use interface and popular features make Androids big hits with teens.

Apps Galore

Though “there’s an app for that” is quickly becoming a modern cliche, it’s also quickly becoming the absolute truth. There is an app for almost anything you’d want to do on your smartphone. Many of them are free, meaning your teens can load up their phone with cool gadgets and games without costing your phone bill a fortune. If your teen is begging for an app that costs money, you can relax a little bit: most apps are under five dollars.

Be sure to talk to your teen about smartphone safety before you hand over their new device. Some phones even have parental control features, so you can rest easy about turning your teen loose with a smartphone in hand.
